NEWS LETTER FOR THE MONTHS OF JULY & AUGUST 2007
“Be still and know that I am God …” (Psalm 46:10)
Dear Co-Laborers and Faithful Friends:
We give thanks to God in the way he has manifested himself in our ministries in Nigeria. We received word from our churches and workers that the programs of soul-winning and Bible teachings are also being productive. Mr. Oyefejo, a man we had visited. And prayed with before we left home, gave his life to the Lord on Saturday, July 28, 2007. This is according to the recent news we received from our church, New Life Independent Baptist, in Lagos. We want you to rejoice with us and his family for his commitment to Christ.
Though they are few, the Lord is tremendously using our Bible College students in the soul-winning business. We are looking forward to more faithful students; although some are blinded to come to Bible College. We pray that their eyes may be opened to this wonderful truth of the Gospel. Things are improving for the students and their families who are in school with us, but your prayers are needed for the Bible College.
With faith and our confidence in God, we would like to start the project of ourYouth Camp in Nigeria. With the current condition of the world and the present situation of life, the demand for us to do something is right now. We trust God for everything we are doing and about to do. We have faith that people will start to join us now in this youth camp project as they respond to this neglected urgent need. Since the building materials are not stable in prices, we cannot tell you how much the project will cost. However we will start with whatever the amount people give to us. Churches, families, and friends can help minister by building a house of two rooms and a parlor for $20,000-$30,000. Please pray about it. We have enclosed here for you the picture of the project.
We thank you faithful churches, friends, and families that are with us in these ministries with prayers and generous offerings. Without you by our side, we could not have done all that we have achieved for God. We need you very much both in prayer and giving.
We have a few more months before we go back to the field, but we would like to visit you and report of our present work and show some pictures. Please call us today. My cell phone number is (423) 760-2949 and home phone number is (423)875-9222. We are waiting to hear from you before we return to our mission field. God bless you and you’re Family.
Sincerely in His service,
Joseph O. Onikeku & family
