Annual Fair Ministry
In June of 2009 the Lord laid on my heart to have a booth at the Haywood County Fair Grounds. We had never done this type of thing before, so we didn't know what to expect. Being a new church and not having a lot of money we decided to go with the free space that was given to us. We also decided to give EVERYTHING away FREE. Being so late in the year as well, we didn't have a whole lot to offer. The free space was small and kind of cramped, but since we didn't have a lot of preparation, materials, money, time, help, or what to expect it worked out great. We did give out a lot of Gospel's of John and Romans, as well as Church brochures, Gospel tracts, cold bottle water, bubble gum, and a few preaching CD's. We meet a lot of people walking by, as well as some others who had been coming to the fair for years handing out Gideon Bibles, etc. We had the opportunity to share Christ with many people.
This year in 2010 we opted to rent a space instead of taking the free space, and had wonderful results. Again we handed out EVERYTHING FREE. This year having more time to prepare and print more materials, more help, more money, and knowing what to expect we rented a 10x9 space, and had much better results, not to mention being less cramped up. We handed out over 750 DVD's and CD's. There was over 300 Gospel Music tapes, and 400 plus preaching tapes given out, each one having a Gospel presentation and invitation to our church. We handed out a bunch of Gospel's of John and Romans again, New Testaments, Gospel tracts, Sword of the Lord Pamphlets, Sword of the Lord Newspaper, The Flaming Torch Newspaper, over 400 church brochures, brochures to our King James Bible Conference coming in October, Church Newsletter, business cards, missionary prayer cards, cold bottle water, bubble gum, and personal papers on the King James Bible issue and Heretics Exposed. One other great item we handed out free was about 50 books called, "Breaking the Bondage of Addictions" written and donated from the Keller Family (there Freedom in Truth Ministry is below). This book is excellent for those that have addictions, but most of all for those who are lost.
We planted a lot of Gospel Seeds, as well as seeds for our church. Many people spoke very kindly to us working in the booth and had great things to say. There were only two negative comments during the whole fair with thousands of people passing through. Praise God!
We are already planning and looking forward to bigger and better next year at the fair in 2011.
